Abstract
|

|
the prevalence of serum antibodies to hepatitis C Virus (Anti-HCV) was assessed by an enzyme immunoassay (Abbott HCV EIA) in 78 patients with longterm Hemodialysis in Cheong Ju. Two patients (2.56%) were anti-HCV positive.
All anti-HCV positive patients had not revevied mutiple transfusions with mean of 8.2+/-6 pints. Anti-HCV positive patients were no significant difference compared to anti-HCV negative patients in age, duration of hemodialysis, total amount of
transfusion.
All patients had no clinical evidence non-A non-B hepatitis but they were usually poor general codition. And then Liver biopsy was not done. The result of this serologic survey suggests that anti-HCV positive among dialysis patients in Cheong Ju
area
was not high compared with other area in korea, although much less than hepatitis B infection.
